An electromagnetic wave is a wave of electromagnetic radiation, characterised by its wavelength, frequency, and amplitude. The wavelength and frequency are inversely related and together determine the energy the wave carries. Such waves range from long-wavelength radio waves to short-wavelength gamma rays.
