Displayed formula
A displayed formula is a structural drawing that shows every atom and every bond in a molecule explicitly. It matters because it makes the full connectivity and bonding completely unambiguous, which is useful when first learning a structure. It is the most detailed representation, in contrast to the condensed formula, which omits most bonds, and the skeletal formula, which leaves carbon and hydrogen atoms implied.
About the IPA
The International Phonetic Alphabet is a standardized system of symbols used to represent the sounds of spoken language.
It helps linguists, language learners, and educators accurately describe pronunciation across languages.
Example: the word "hello" in British English is transcribed as /həˈləʊ/ in IPA.
