Termination by disproportionation

Explanation (EN)

Termination by disproportionation is another mechanism of termination in chain-growth polymerization. In this process, two growing polymer chains react, and one chain abstracts a hydrogen atom from the other chain. This results in the formation of two dead polymer chains, one with a saturated end group and the other with an unsaturated end group. Termination by disproportionation is also common in free radical polymerization.

Explanation (ZH)

About the IPA

The International Phonetic Alphabet is a standardized system of symbols used to represent the sounds of spoken language.

It helps linguists, language learners, and educators accurately describe pronunciation across languages.

Example: the word "hello" in British English is transcribed as /həˈləʊ/ in IPA.
