The electromagnetic spectrum is the full range of electromagnetic radiation arranged in order of wavelength or frequency, from long-wavelength radio waves at one end to short-wavelength gamma rays at the other. Visible light occupies only a small part of this range. Arranging the radiation in this way shows how energy increases as wavelength decreases.
