A redox titration is a titration based on the transfer of electrons between the active components, that is, on an oxidation–reduction reaction between the analyte and the standard solution. The stoichiometric point corresponds to the complete transfer of electrons in the reacting ratio. Potassium permanganate, for example, is often used as a self-indicating oxidising agent in such titrations.
