Electron spin

电子自旋

Explanation (EN)

Electron spin is an intrinsic property of the electron, which behaves as though it were a tiny spinning charge that generates a magnetic field. It is not literally a rotation but a fundamental quantum property with only two possible orientations. Spin is described by the spin quantum number and underlies magnetic behaviour and the Pauli exclusion principle.

Explanation (ZH)

电子自旋是电子的固有属性,电子表现得如同一个微小的旋转电荷,能产生磁场。它并非真正的旋转,而是一种基本的量子属性,只有两种可能的取向。自旋由自旋量子数描述,是磁性行为和泡利不相容原理的基础。

About the IPA

The International Phonetic Alphabet is a standardized system of symbols used to represent the sounds of spoken language.

It helps linguists, language learners, and educators accurately describe pronunciation across languages.

Example: the word "hello" in British English is transcribed as /həˈləʊ/ in IPA.
